| Low elevations and strong winds off the ocean are responsible for Puerto Rico´s second subtropical dry forest area. The eastern tip of the mainland is a perfect spot for bird watchers looking for endemic species (Adelaide´s Warbler, Tody, Woodpecker, Flycatcher, even the Yellow-shouldered Blackbird), plus Antillean / Caribbean specialties, including the Antillean Crested Hummingbird, Green-throated Carib, and Caribbean Elaenia. |
