STEP 1 REQUEST
  1. Please read BIRDING TERMS and rates.  Follow 2 - 4 from Step 1.
  2. If you are looking for a half or full day birding program, please complete form on the Reservations section.
  3. Please verify your email and phone number before submitting the request.
  4. If  you do not receive an email or call from our staff in 48 hours, please resend information.
STEP 2 AVAILABILITY
  1. Upon receipt of your request, we will verify if selected date(s) are available.
  2. If the date is available, we will notify you through email.
  3. You should contact us via email confirming your decision and method of  payment.  You should not send any
    payment through PayPal unless you receive our confirmation email.
  1. We will proceed to invoice you through PayPal.  You should provide your credit card information to our staff before
    invoice is send to you via email.
  2. As soon as you receive PayPal email, you should follow their instructions.
  3. We will hold the date for two (2) days.  We do not guarantee or book any birding trip or package unless we receive
    a non-refundable deposit or full payment within two days.
  4. On basic birding trips, a non-refundable deposit is required.  We usually charge 25% to 50% depending on selected
    activity to guarantee date.
  5. On multi-day birding programs, we require a full day non-refundable deposit.  Terms an balance will vary
    depending the total number of days you will like to go birding.  
  6. For birding packages, we should receive via mail your non-refundable deposit (US Post Office money orders only)
    within 7 days of your approval of our quote, $500 per person on double rooms; $800 for single rooms.  
  7. Balance due on all birding trips or packages should be paid and received by us at least three weeks from departure time.
  8. Please remember that once we book a private tour for you, we will not sell other birding trip for the same
    day and time for the assigned Birder Guide.
  9. When you complete PayPal form, we will receive and email from them with a receipt of your payment.    
  10. If you don´t have a credit card or prefer to pay with a US Post Office money order (sorry, no personal checks), you
    can send your payment through regular mail.
  11. There is a charge of 8% on all payments using PayPal.
  12. Prices do not include tip for the driver, tour guide, birder guide, and employees at hotels or restaurants.
  13. Prices do not cover your personal expenses, tips, drinks or travel insurance.
STEP 3 INVOICING
  1. We will proceed to send you an email with confirmation of selected date with all necessary information for pick-up or
    meeting point instructions on selected activity.
  1. Written notice is required for all cancellations before departure date.  You must contact us on the phone and send
    written cancellation notice via email.
  2. Please remember that all deposits are non-refundable.
  3. We strongly suggest you purchase a travel insurance policy in the event of reasons out of our control, such as
    hurricane, earthquake, or political issues in our territory.   
  4. Please remember that if you travel to Puerto Rico during or after a tropical disturbance (heavy rains, tropical
    depression, storm or hurricane) the behaviour, location, and total number of birds to be seeing could be affected.  
  5. Refunds will not be made for unused portions of tour.
  6. No refunds for last minute cancellations or no show at meeting point, or pick-up hotel/port.
  7. Applications for any refund, must be made in writing to us within 5 days of tour termination.
  8. Always ask for cancellation policy for groups or tour packages.
  9. Refunds, if applicable, will be made directly through PayPal to your credit card within 60 days of payment.
  10. If you paid by mail, you will receive the refund through regular mail.
STEP 5 CANCELLATION POLICY
STEP 6 PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE
  1. Prices on this website or documents are subject to change without notice.  Please confirm price by written before
    booking a tour.
  2. Prices are effective on January 1 of each year.   We will keep our tour prices competitive, but there will be a surcharge
    due to fluctuation on gasoline or diesel costs, if necessary.
STEP 9 GENERAL TERMS
STEP 7 SMOKING POLICY
  1. AdvenTours and Birding Puerto Rico are not responsible for the loss, damage, theft of luggage or personal belongings,
    or for personal injury, accidents or illness.
  2. For your protection, it is important and strongly recommended that you have or purchase adequate insurance, including
    trip cancellation and interruption of trip through your authorized travel agent.

  1. Due to the nature of our tours and our company policy, smoking is not permitted under any circumstances during
    our meals, meetings, tours or birding trips.  Birding trip will end if this rule is not followed, no refund will be
    issue.
  2. New regulations for smokers have been established by the Government.
  3. Selected hotels/rooms are for non-smokers, please follow their rules.
  4. For donations for the advancement of a cure for respiratory diseases, please contact the Puerto Rican Lung
    Association at http://www.pulmonpr.org or their page in Facebook.
  5. Our drivers, tour guides, and birder guides are not allowed to smoke at any moment.  If one of our guides or drivers
    smoke during a tour, please email us.
STEP 8 INSURANCE
STEP 4 CONFIRMATION OF PAYMENT
Due to changes in PayPal policies, on birding trips of one day or less, we are only accepting credit card on
bookings made
65 days before birding trip.  As of March 5, 2010, an 8% service charge will apply on all
credit card payments.  Please verify that the date is available and we will give you instructions on how to
send us your deposit or payment via regular mail.
Birding packages, money orders only.  Sorry for the
inconveniences.
All birding trips are weather permissible. especially during the Summer and Hurricane Season due to storms,
hurricanes or other conditions, such as:  Sahara dust and ashes of Monserrate Volcano.
STEP 10 IMPORTANT NOTES



  1. Upon arrival in Puerto Rico, please give us a call.
  2. Avoid sending us last minute emails for instructions, all communication should be via telephone at (787) 530-8311.
  3. Maps or GPS are not allowed during any of our birding trips.
  4. We do not use nor allow, playback during our birding trips.  Our birders are trained in birding by hearing.  
  5. Playbacks will be used to confirm the sound of a bird, or to allow our clients to listen to the sound and know which bird
    we are looking for.  
  6. When looking for the Screech Owl or Nightjar, we use LED or lower intensity lights  We do not allow the use of spotlights.
  7. We love photography, but we also love our birds.  Please do not use flash when taking pictures of your favorite birds.
  8. These birding trips are for non-smokers only!.
