# 14 - Parrots, Parakeeets
Counter
.
The Orange-fronted
Parakeet is one of the
birds that can be found at
the parking of  El Portal
Visitors Center in El
Yunque.  If you look
closely to the pictures, the
eye ring is yellow, the
Puerto Rican Parrot´s  eye
ring is white.  Many people
are saying that they have
spotted the PR Parrot at El
Portal, but they have had a
real encounter with this
parakeet.
"With the exception of the endemic Puerto Rican Parrot,
the species occurring in the region have been introduced,
primarily as a result of caged birds escaping."
